Tour on Wildlife Photography at Kanha Tiger Reserve

The Photographic Society of Madras is organizing a 5 DAYS TOUR (7 days inclusive of travel) on wildlife photography in Kanha Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, from 12th to 19th April 2009. Kanha shelters one of the largest populations of the tigers in the country and some of the other larger animal species found in the park are sloth bear, leopard, striped, hyena, spotted dear, wild boar, jungle cat, jackal and a variety of monkeys. Over 200 spices of birds have been spotted in the park. This Tour will provide immense opportunity to the participants to enjoy nature in its epicenter and splendid opportunity of wildlife and nature photography.

The participants are requested to bring their equipments for the same including camera body, lenses, tripods, heads, flashes, reflectors and enough batteries and storage devices. The following is the schedule of the tour.

12.04.2009 – 17.30 – Departure to Nagpur by 2967 Jaipur Express (Train).

13.04.2009 – 11.15 – Arrive at Nagpur Station.

13.04.2009 – 12.00 – Departure to Kisli Tourist Hostel by Road (Car).

13.04.2009 – 19.30 – Arrive at Kisli Tourist Hostel and Stay.

14.04.2009 – Camp at Kanha Tiger Reserve and Stay at Kisli Tourist Hostel.

15.04.2009 – Camp at Kanha Tiger Reserve and Stay at Kisli Tourist Hostel.

16.04.2009 – Camp at Kanha Tiger Reserve and Stay at Kisli Tourist Hostel.

17.04.2009 – Camp at Kanha Tiger Reserve and Stay at Kisli Tourist Hostel.

18.04.2009 – 04.30 – Departure to Nagpur Station by Road (Car).

18.04.2009 – 13.30 – Arrive at Nagpur Station.

18.04.2009 – 14.30 – Departure to Chennai by 2622 – Tamilnadu Express (Train).

19.04.2009 – 07.10 – Arrive at Chennai Central Station.

The tour will cost for PSM members is Rs.10,000/- * (Rupees ten thousand only) and for non-members** it is Rs.12,500/- (Rupees twelve thousand and five hundred only). ALL COSTS ARE PER PERSON. The cost is inclusive of 3 tier air-conditioned Train travel from Chennai to Nagpur and return, vehicle transfer from Nagpur to Kisli and Kisli to Nagpur (250kms each way), stay for 5 days in a dormitory accommodation (Please find the attached pictures of the proposed accommodation facility or visit www.mptourism.com/dest/kanha_accomm.html), breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments, 8 safaris to the jungle in the jeep (4 people in each jeep).

The seats are limited only to 20 people. The seats will be filled on first-come-first-serve basis. Detailed program including the sharing of experiences with already visited people will be contacted separately to the interested members by April 2009, first week.

Interested participants are requested to register and pay (cash only) tour cost on or before 10.01.2009 in our Admn. Office, Thiruvanmiyur. The contact person will be Ms. Kamala Guhan. Please make sure that it should reach the society before 05.00pm on 10th April 2009. So, that it enables us to do the further arrangements like ticket booking and accommodation, etc. (Which need to be done 3 months in advance).

Refund policy: There won’t be any refund in case if any one not able to make it, But he/she can nominate some body else in their place but a ticket renaming and reservation fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) is applicable.

Please register your name for the above programs as early as possible to avoid disappointments.

Note:

Members are advised to keep in mind that the cost of the tour may slightly vary depends on the participants, it will be very unlikely, since the cost of the tour will be shared by all the participants equally, so we are not in a position to freeze the cost without knowing the exact numbers.
