We are glad to announce the program for February 2009 by Mr.Ganesh H Shankar from Bangalore on creative nature photography. Ganesh is widely known as a creative nature artist and very popular among the photographers in India and abroad, rated as a new age nature photographer by many, he has very unique style of seeing nature in a creative and contemporary way. For many upcoming nature photographers he is an inspiration through his sheer talent and his post processing skills are truly international and well regarded. He is an active participant in many national and international photographic forums and won many awards to his credit. His photographs were published in many national/international magazines. He shoots both in 35mm and large format cameras and his shooting arsenal ranges from 12mm to 600mm including some special purpose lenses and accessories. More than that he is one fine photographer who always wants share his tips and techniques with fellow photographers. The program consists of 3 components

Field Trip

Date: 21st February 2009, Saturday

Time: 6 AM to 10.30.AM

Location: Vedenthangal Bird sanctuary

Members are requested to come with their photographic equipments and own transport to the proposed location , it will be a field shooting tips and techniques, so it is an opportunity for members to make some images for themselves and also an opportunity to witness how ganesh make his own images and also an opportunity for a field interaction.

Guest lecture

Date: 21st February 2009

Time: 5.45 pm to 8.30 PM

Location: Guindy engineering college, Alumni center.

Our usual members meeting with our standard official agenda followed by the guest lecture of H S Ganesh on creative nature photography, he is going to cover different aspects of nature photography including wild life, bird and macro photography , interaction and discussion through online web galleries followed by Q & A

Half a day lecture and demonstration on digital post processing

Date: 22nd February 2009, Sunday

Time: 8.30 AM to 1. 30 PM

Location: Gandhi Nagar club, Adyar

Ganesh is going to demonstrate the digital work flow including the monitor calibration, color correction techniques, tools, filters. Framing & presentation, image resizing for web etc. This is not a workshop but if the participants wants to bring their laptops with post processing software you are encouraged to do so.

All the above three programs are open to public , For members of the PSM it is Free of Charges and for guests and outside participants, it will be on a chargeable basis as 300 Rs per person ***. this cost will cover participation in all 3 sessions and refreshments on the Saturday evening and Sunday programs. There won't be any concession on single session participation. if any body wants to attend any one of the session the fee of 300 Rs remains the same. Guests can pay the fee at the venue / in advance as they wish, in the form of cheque or cash. BUT pre-registeration through a MAIL WITH THE NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE PARTICIPANTS ARE NECESSARY.

*** The vedenthangal bird sanctuary entry fee and camera fee is not inclusive

***Participants have to arrange their own transport and breakfast to Vendenthangal
