Monthly Meeting

Thanks to the generous offer of Ms Sharan Apparao, we will have this month's meeting at Apparao Galleries

(No. 7, Wallace Gardens, 3rd Street, Greams Road, Chennai-600 006, Tel: 28332226) at 6.00 pm on Saturday, 21 Mar 09.

As we generally talk on photography in terms of science and the techniques, the PSM is taking an initiative to expose our talented members to the art form of photography.

The guest speaker will be Mr R M Palaniappan who is the Regional Secretary of the Lalit Kala Academi, Chennai is a painter of repute and a photographer as well. He will talk to us about the painters' perspective of composition, light and colour, as applicable to photography.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows

· Silent invocation

· Welcome by The president

· Review of the minutes of the previous monthly meeting (displayed at the hall)

· Discussion on matters arising out of the previous meeting

· Introduction of new members

· Announcement from Programs committee

· Viewing of Member’s pictures.

· Viewing of Member’s Competition Pictures for the month

· Prize distribution for member’s competition for March

· Introduction of the chief guest of the month Mr R M Palaniappan

· Vote of thanks

Special Competition for Members

Swissco has sponsored 5 SDV Power packs for members’ competitions. The speaker of the month will judge member competition pictures displayed in the meeting. Winners will be awarded one battery pack as a prize for the month. This competition will run for the next two months. All members who wants to participate in the Members Monthly Picture Competition (MMPC) are requested to bring two of their best pictures in a CD/DVD (NO USB drive or External Hard disk) so that they can be projected at the meeting.

In addition, members who want to display their photographic work in the monthly meetings Members Display Section (MDS) and share them with fellow members are encouraged to do so . Members are requested to display their work in less than 5 Minutes per member so that more members can use this opportunity.

For both these categories namely Members Monthly Picture Competition (MMPC) and Members Display Section (MDS), participants are requested to be present at the venue 15 mins before the scheduled commencement of the meeting with their photographs in the form of a CD/DVD so that it will afford sufficient time to transfer your files to the computer for display.

Members who want to display their prints are also encouraged to do so. These prints can be displayed during the serving of refreshments so that fellow members can view and appreciate your work.
